About Your Teacher

Welcome to Morning Star - Music Studio

​

I have had the pleasure of working with young students as well as Middle School/High School

students for over 30 years as a public school and private piano and vocal teacher.  Teaching is my

passion, and music speaks to my soul.  I have taught all ages from 4-74.  I hold an Indiana teaching

license as a music teacher in Vocal and Piano, having a B.S. degree as well as a Masters in Music Degree

with an endorsement in Gifted and Talented.  I have served my community as a member of my church

and Praise Band playing keys, vocal as well as other performance opportunities when time allowed.

Goals for Morningstar Students:

To fall in LOVE with MUSIC!  To have FUN learning about MUSIC through their instrument

• To develop life-long musicians who appreciate the music of others and find joy in making  

       and creating their own music through a well-balanced curriculum in repertoire, technique,

       sight-reading, music theory and performance.

• Students are encouraged to demonstrate their skills through movement, rhythmic games,
  reading, writing, composing and performance.  These are all essential to the mastery of
  student achievement.
   

• To aid and instill confidence and self-motivation with a unique individualized plan for each student's
  needs, abilities, age and interest, and to guide the student's understanding of music history and
  how it relates to our world.

• Allowing students, the freedom to express themselves through the music and to find joy and
  satisfaction through performance and interpretation.
